Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil plus more to spray
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoon grated parmesan or nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire soy or coconut aminos
  • 2 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt if using soy sauce. Can add up to 1 teaspoon if not using soy
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Slaw

  • 1 cup red cabbage finely shredded
  • 2 cups white cabbage finely shredded
  • 1 small carrot julienne or grated
  • 1 tablespoon chives or 2 spring onions finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise for lighter version you can use 2 tablespoon greek yoghurt and 2 tablespoon mayonnaise

Optional extras

  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced red onion or caramelised onions
  • Pickles
  • Lettuce
  • Mayo
  • Ketchup

To Serve

  • Hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Add all the burger patty ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine.
  • Shape into burgers or use a burger press. Top tip is to oil your hands with olive oil.
  • Preheat the Air fryer to 380F. Spray the basket with olive oil.
  • Carefully transfer the burgers and arrange in one layer. Spray the top generously with olive oil.
  • Cook for about 6 min or until cooked through to your liking.
  • Mix the slaw ingredients together in a bowl.
  • I served mine in a burger bun with slaw, more mayo and some arugula. Add from the optional list as you fancy!
