Servings: 4 people

Ingredients

  • 14 oz ground beef 400 g
  • 4 tablespoon soy sauce 60 ml
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar 25 g
  • ¼ cup ketchup 60 g
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil 15 ml
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions for serving

Instructions

  • Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Flavor the mixture: Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and ketchup. Simmer for 2–3 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  • Toast the buns: While the beef simmers, lightly toast the burger buns in a dry skillet or toaster.
  • Assemble: Spoon the saucy beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if using. Add the top bun and serve hot.
