Pizza is one of the most enduringly popular foods there are. Unfortunately, some people who love the taste can’t fully enjoy pizza because they’re intolerant or allergic to gluten. The good news for them is that there’s been a lot of growth in the quantity and quality of gluten free pizzas. Following are the best gluten free pizzas you can buy in grocery stores.
1. Udi’s
Udi’s is one of the best gluten-free food brands out there, and their pizzas rule the gluten-free world. Try the Crispy Thin Crust Uncured Pepperoni one; you may be unable to tell it’s gluten-free.
2. California Pizza Kitchen
Like Udi’s, the gluten-free pizzas from California Pizza Kitchen are so good you may be unable to tell the difference from a gluten crust. The Uncured Pepperoni, Mushroom, and Sausage stand out.
3. Against the Grain
A name like this sets high expectations for gluten-free products, and Against the Grain delivers. The only downside is that it can be hard to find in grocery stores. However, you can find it online, and they have both a basic and a gourmet line.
4. Freschetta
Since Freschetta makes some of the best-frozen pizzas with gluten crusts, it’s no surprise that they do well for the gluten-free market, too. You can get it in pepperoni, cheese, and margarita.
5. Sonoma Flatbreads
Sonoma Flatbreads pizza has a lot going for it. For starters, it has a uniquely zesty sauce. It’s also less expensive than a lot of other brands. And there's something for everyone with pepperoni, supreme, and four cheese options.
6. Banza
If you need gluten-free, but you’re no fan of cauliflower, Banza might ride to the rescue. Their pizza crusts are made from chickpea flour. The Margherita variety is the best.
7. Caulipower
Caulipower’s branding includes “America’s #1 Cauliflower Crust.” Even if you have some other favorites, you’re still likely to find this pizza delicious. It’s also reasonably inexpensive, and it comes in 6 different varieties.
8. Great Value
Great Power is a Walmart store brand, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Its Margherita variety is outstanding, and the others have no slouches. This pizza also really lives up to its brand name since it costs about half of what the most expensive varieties on this list do.
9. Etalia
These pizzas have outstanding flavor; unlike many other gluten-free brands, they’re big (20 ounces). They do have some considerable drawbacks, though. For one, you can only get them at Whole Foods Market, and, as you would expect of Whole Foods products, they’re really expensive. They also only come in Margherita. But if you live near Whole Foods, don’t mind the high price, and enjoy margherita pizza, this one will keep you happy.
10. Kroger
A lot of people know that quite often, store-brand pizzas are just as good as and sometimes better than their name-brand counterparts in the frozen aisle. Kroger’s gluten-free pizza has a crispy, buttery crust, and it only gets better from there. The main drawback, of course, is that you can only get it at a Kroger store.
