It’s the nature of the restaurant business for menu items to come and go. However, some things go that we’d love to see come back. When people talk about fast-food items from childhood that they wish would return, the following comes up a lot.
Snack Wraps

These used to be McDonald’s items. It was a crispy piece of chicken with lettuce, cheese, and spicy mayo, all wrapped in a warm tortilla.
Free Kids Pizza Coupons
Pizza Hut ran a program where kids could earn coupons for a free kids pizza by reading books. It was a lovely deal for kids who already were avid readers.
McDLT
Also known as the McDeluxe, this McDonald’s cheeseburger had a burger, bun, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, mustard, and ketchup. So, it was a pretty typical cheeseburger. What made it different was being served in a two-chambered styrofoam container with hot parts on one side and cold on the other.
Burger King Shake ‘Em Up Fries
When you ordered these, you got a bag to put your fries in. You also got a packet of dehydrated cheese powder, which you poured into the bag with the fries. Then, you closed the bag and shook it, leaving a layer of cheese dust over the fries.
Burger King Sweet Potato Fries
Marketed as “golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside,” these were a hit with many people. Although they’re not permanent menu items, they occasionally return as seasonal ones.
Arch Deluxe
McDonald’s invested much into marketing this item, but it disappeared after about a year. It had its fans, though; it consisted of a quarter-pound burger on a bun topped with peppered bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, and Dijonnaise sauce.
Enchirito
Taco Bell pulled this from the menu in 2013 and brought it back for a limited time in 2022 due to popular demand. You can still get one, though, by ordering an enchilada stuffed with beef, beans, and cheese.
Chilito
Another popular item pulled by Taco Bell, this was hot chili with shredded cheese on top wrapped in a flour tortilla. Like the Enchirito, you can still get it; you have to ask for a Chili Cheese Burrito, which is the same thing by another name.
The Superbar
For ten years, Wendy’s made this fan favorite available. It was a self-serve salad bar with pizza, pasta, pudding, and more for just $2.99.
The Original Domino’s Pizza Recipe
Whenever a restaurant changes the recipe for a popular food item, there will be people yearning for the older version. Domino’s was no exception to this rule.
Frito Chile Cheese Wrap
Sonic intended for this to be a limited-time menu item, but it turned out to be really popular. When the company pulled it, there was enough demand that they brought it back this year for a limited time at limited locations.
The Original Chicken Little Sandwich
KFC introduced these small square sandwiches wrapped in paperback in the 80s. Many people say the modern version isn’t nearly on par with the original.
Long John Silver’s Popcorn Chicken
Although primarily known for seafood, Long John Silver’s used to serve triangular-shaped chicken bites that had just the right amount of zest to them. Like so many others, they’ve joined the list of discontinued fast-food items people want to see come back.
