Spring is right around the corner peeps but flu season is not over.  It's so scary to hear all the sad stories about it and it makes me want to stay home... like all day/everyday.

How about you?  Did you get a flu shot this year?

I'm thinking about you guys and I know that sometimes you just want to fill your belly with seasonal healthy goodness like this Blood Orange, Carrot and Turmeric Smoothie. Yes, I know it sounds weird but it's oddly refreshing and just feels plain wholesome!

    Trust me on this one.

Blood Orange, Carrot and Turmeric Smoothie

I had trouble deciding whether to call it a SMOOTHIE or a JUICE.  I did use carrot juice in it but I used my Vitamix to blitz the whole thing, therefore...smoothie it is!  BUT I would call it a cross between the two because it's a bit on the thinner side.

It's packed with good for you blood orange juice (I'm obsessed with these), carrot juice, some greek yogurt for protein and turmeric powder for extra anti-inflammatory benefits.

Hmmm, wonder if this is a good hangover helper... not that I have one, but it sounds like it might be. 😆

    Carrot Citrus Smoothie

Smoothies like this are perfect for afternoon snacks. I usually need more for breakfast bc I'm a hungry girl and my stomach would start rumbling immediately.  BUT I still like to drink them for the health benefits and they are perfect for that mid-afternoon slump.  The blood orange juice might even satisfy your sweet tooth enough to keep you out of the office candy drawer.

I think you are going to love this Blood Orange, Carrot and Turmeric Smoothie because it's...

    • 100% wholesome
    • packed with Vitamin A, Vitamin C,  and antioxidants
    • loaded with anti-inflammatory turmeric
    • beautiful
    • gluten free
