    Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie

If you like coffee and chocolate you are going to love this healthy Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie.  It's like drinking a milkshake for breakfast! Healthy, gluten-free and full of protein to keep you full until lunch.

This post was sponsored by Nespresso but all opinions are my own.

Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie with oatmeal, coffee and chocolate chips with straw

Raise your hand if you like chocolate and coffee together.  They are a match made in heaven for sure.  So why not mix them together into a delicious, healthy breakfast?

I say go for it in this Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie!

This smoothie is full of good for you ingredients to get your day off to a good start. Gluten free oats and protein powder add all the protein you need to keep you full until lunch.  The coffee adds caffeine to kick start your day. I love coffee and could easily have three cups per day (oh wait, I do have three cups per day).

This Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie is perfect on the go and includes everything I need for a healthy and fulfilling breakfast.  I make this in less than five minutes on my way out to drive the kids to school.

Did I mention that it tastes like a rich chocolate milkshake?

This Coffee Banana Oat Smoothie is...

    • gluten free
    • vegan
    • healthy
    • creamy
    • sweet

Let's talk coffee for a minute.  I love my new Nespresso Maker.  It brews a delicious cup of coffee every time, fresh and perfect!  For this recipe, I used coffee from Gourmesso.com.  It's fair trade coffee for the Nespresso Maker at the best price. They use only the highest quality coffee beans to make their coffee.  Is there anything better than a fresh, hot single serve cup of coffee made at home?

Feel free to change this up to taste.  Use different flavored coffees and different flavors of protein powder.  Skip the banana for a thinner smoothie or use a frozen banana for an even thicker milkshake-like smoothie. Add in flax or chia seeds for a nutritional boost.  Add a spoonful of almond or cashew butter if you prefer a thicker shake.  I'll bet you could even sneak in some greens without anyone knowing.

So come on! Let's get your coffee and chocolate fix all in one glass!

Okay - this is just brilliant, Karen. Never thought of adding coffee to a smoothie. I actually enjoy cold coffee more than hot coffee. I drink Starbucks cold coffee black in the AM - but will be adding it (and chocolate) to my next smoothie!

Yum! I make this every day for my work breakfast! Another tip, freeze left over coffee in ice cube trays and use that rather than ice cube. 1 cup is about 6 ice cups.

Great idea Kimmi, thank you. I'll bet those are good for iced coffee too - I need that for my afternoon pick me up!
