Ingredients

- Hawaiian rolls: Sweet and soft, they hold the toppings well and give the sliders a slightly sweet contrast to the savory cheese and pepperoni.
- Pizza sauce: Use a quality jarred or homemade sauce; it adds the classic pizza flavor.
- Pepperoni: Adds saltiness and spice; you can also use other deli meats or cooked sausage.
- Mozzarella and parmesan: Mozzarella gives melty stretch, while Parmesan adds depth and a salty bite.
- Butter, garlic and Italian seasoning: Brushed on top for golden, flavorful buns.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

- Step 1: Slice the rolls in half while keeping them together, and set the top halves aside. Place the bottom halves on the baking sheet.

- Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Spread half the pizza sauce on the bottom buns, then sprinkle half of the cheese mixture over the sauce.

- Step 3: Layer the pepperoni on top of the cheese, then add the remaining cheese. Spread the rest of the pizza sauce on the underside of the top bun halves.

- Step 4: Place the top buns over the sliders. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic and Italian seasoning, then brush over the tops. Bake, slice, serve.
Substitutions
- Swap Hawaiian rolls with brioche buns or dinner rolls.
- Replace pepperoni with cooked sausage, ham, or veggie pepperoni for a vegetarian option.
- Use dairy-free cheese and plant-based butter to make sliders vegan-friendly.
Variations
- Veggie lovers: Add sauteed onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives.
- Spicy kick: Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes or use pepperoni with a spicy flavor.
- Cheesy overload: Mix mozzarella with provolone or fontina for extra cheesy goodness.
Equipment
You'll need a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup and even baking. A serrated knife works best for slicing the rolls without squishing them. A small bowl and brush make it easy to prepare and spread the garlic butter topping evenly.
Storage
Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to restore the gooey, melty texture. These can also be frozen for up to 1 month; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
Top tip
For best results, leave the rolls attached while slicing to keep them uniform and easier to assemble.
FAQ
Yes, assemble them, cover tightly with foil, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
