    healthy cauliflower smoothies

Try the newest ingredient in your breakfast smoothies to pack them with extra nutrients - Cauliflower.  You will honestly never know it's in there and it adds so much creaminess and nutrition.

    Here are Four Ways to Make Cauliflower Smoothies that are delicious! {gluten free}

how to make Cauliflower Smoothies four ways

Yes, I know how it sounds...Cauliflower in a smoothie?  Gross, right?

    NOT.

You will never be able to taste it so why not add some extra nutrients to your smoothie in the morning?  Frozen cauliflower and frozen rice cauliflower are readily available now at your local market, so get your hands on some and pack those smoothies! I keep riced cauliflower in my freezer and have even used it for make-ahead smoothie packs.

Check out Costco and Trader Joe's for a great price on frozen riced cauliflower.

If you prefer to make your own riced cauliflower you can do it in a few easy steps but remember you can use any frozen cauliflower in these smoothies. It doesn't have to be riced cauliflower.

    1. Wash the raw cauliflower florets.
    2. Cut into smaller pieces, including stems
    3. Place in a food processor and pulse gently until it starts to look like rice. Be careful not to pulse too much because it can get mushy quickly.
    4. From there you can place into freezer bags for use in these smoothies or you can make full smoothie bags with all the smoothie ingredients into one bag. So easy to grab on the run. Perfect meal prep.

Cauliflower is a hearty, nutrient-dense vegetable that is the perfect ingredient for a healthy smoothie. Cauliflower is rich in potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin K, which are all nutrients that support bone strength and cardiovascular health.

Cauliflower also contains a unique combination of indoles and isothiocyanates, which are antioxidants that can help prevent cancer.

Why should you add cauliflower to your smoothie?

    • vitamin C, potassium, B Vitamins, and fiber
    • low sugar
    • adds creaminess and has a neutral flavor
    • helps you stay full longer
    • you'll never taste it and neither will your kids!

Try these Four Ways to Make Cauliflower Smoothies and let me know what you think!

How do you Freeze Cauliflower for Smoothies?

It's so simple, just wash your cauliflower and cut it into florets.  Lay the cauliflower on a sheet pan and freeze it for a few hours.  This ensures that each piece is frozen and it won't all come out in one clump.  Place portions into freezer bags and freeze again.  You can also go ahead and add the berries or bananas and make smoothie freezer packs.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cauliflower Smoothies

    1. Does cauliflower taste good in smoothies? Well, as far as I can tell you can't even taste it. It adds so much nutritional value and gives it a beautiful creamy texture and that's why I like to add it.
    2. Why do people put cauliflower in smoothies? Nutritional value.
    3. Can you make a cauliflower smoothie that is keto? Yes but you have to watch all the other fruit you put in it. Use a handful of berries but not the higher-carb fruits like pineapple. Then add a protein like a collagen powder and some healthy fats like natural almond butter. Cauliflower is a great replacement for banana in smoothies.

I love it! Why not cauliflower, people use spinach all the time and no one says ewe there! I love cauliflower, it's kind of the forgotten veggie. What a great addition and four amazing smoothies!

Cauliflower is one of my fave veggies, but I can't say that I've ever had in a smoothie. Would totally try this out, though! I have a smoothie practically every day and this is a great way to mix it up 🙂 Those colours are so pretty too!
