This gorgeous Pomegranate Smoothie will become a favorite at your house.  It is naturally sweet, healthy and full of antioxidants.

    Pomegranate Smoothie with pomegranate arils

Your family is going to love this Pomegranate Smoothie.  It is so sweet and full of flavor.  There is no sugar added, but the pomegranate juice and arils are enough to sweeten it to perfection.

Full of antioxidants and Vitamin C, this is a great way to start the day or the perfect snack for those late afternoon munchies.

This would be so much fun for a girl's birthday party or Fancy Nancy themed event.  I am so sad to admit that we are way too old for Fancy Nancy in our house.  In fact, there is not one Barbie or Barbie themed item on my daughter's Christmas list.  Boo, hoo... I hate to see those innocent years gone.  I'm still trying to hang on and bought a few cute Barbie outfits for her Barbies.  I just couldn't resist.  I remember playing with dolls until I was about 12 - embarrassing I know.

    Pomegranate Smoothie with pomegranate

We have a lot of smoothies going on in our lives.  My daughter and I drink a Vega One Protein and Greens Smoothie almost every day.  Love that stuff!  It's like a chocolate milkshake.

For snacks, I prefer green smoothies, especially in the late afternoon when I crave a Starbuck's coffee or something chocolate.  It usually tides me over until dinner time.  I love that I can get my kids to drink something so full of greens and goodness because sometimes we don't finish all of our broccoli.

    Health Benefits of Pomegranate...

    • antioxidants
    • fiber
    • Vitamin C
    • Vitamin K
    • folate
    • anti-inflammatory

    Pomegranate up close

Isn't this gorgeous?  The easiest way to remove arils is to cut the pomegranate in half and hold one half over a bowl.  Then whack the back with a wooden spoon.  The arils fall right out.  Sometimes you get a bit of the membrane but that is easy to fish out. Careful, though, because they stain your clothes and make a big mess on the counter.

Not to worry, if you aren't into any of this nonsense, buy the arils already removed in the produce section. They also have some in the frozen section, but I have yet to try them.

This looks so tart and refreshing! I never thought to make a pomegranate smoothie. Also, as many times as I've typed "pomegranate" this season, I never get it right. Spell check makes me lazy.
